I have been wary to join the blog world for several reasons. As someone who has worked really hard to get a degree, it really kicks me of my intellectual high horse when all publishing requires is a gmail account. Also, why are my opinions that important? This is the question I will focus on, in this, my first ever blog post.
My first inclination is maybe this can get me famous. The popularity of blogs make no sense to me. perez hilton -- really? If I too can tap into this goldmine, then I will not have to continue my education (thus saving money) and I will have something to do (thus appeasing my Jewish mother).
Secondly, I have pretty solid opinions on things that are often popular yet the forum for commenting on them is small. Sure, it might be a hipster, but shit, there really are not enough places where you can read about the new Sublime Frequencies album, cool sneakers, and perhaps even art.
Ultimately, everything I enjoy can be judged on two levels: quality and pretension. Every post will rate what ever is being reviewed based on these two quantifiers. So, if you are lacking in your own opinions, or want affirmation of the quality of them, this is the place. Furthermore you can prepare yourself for parties based on how pretentious you want to be perceived (sorry for the passive voice).
So enjoy this new blog, its the best one I've come across.
